Kauai's Best Selection of the Newest Vacation Rentals on the Island. Call: 877-595-2824 or 808-212-0003

So, we wanted you to meet Chuck - he just booked a Kauai Vacation Rental through us.  He was so excited about coming to Kauai and booking such a great, new, air-conditioned condo with so much space that he couldn't help himself and ran right across the lake where he lives.  Now we don't think everyone will get that excited - really, how do you get so excited that you affect the laws of gravity... - but we do think you'll get excited to get one of the very few new, air-conditioned condos that Kauai has to offer.  Our team of Kauai experts is standing by to help answer any of your questions.  We also hope that this photo put just a bit of a smile and some aloha into your day - enjoy!

I found this photo and all I can say is - "Wow!".  This was taken just off the Poipu Beach area and yes the divers did survive even though they hadn't booked a condo through us.  The person taking the photo was able to warn them just in time and they each went different directions.  This confused the shark enough that it didn't know what to do and swam back out into deeper water.  Now whether you believe that the photo and story is real or not - you need a vacation to Kauai and we can help.  We always try to inject a little laughter, or a smile in all - it is the aloha way.

If your going to visit Kauai you should make the most out of your trip.  There are so many things to do and see and lots of those are probably things that you can only experience on Kauai.  One of those activities is visiting sites from movies that were filmed there.  Recently, one of Hawaii's movie tour company was listed in the top 10 movie tour operators.  They have excursions on several of the islands, but of course, we think Kauai is the best one to visit.  Take a look at the article and who knows, you might find something to add to your list of things to do.   -->Click Here<--

Does it surprise anyone that two Hawaii beaches were named in a list of top beach destinations in the U.S.? - Not us, we know just how incredible Hawaii's beaches are.  Poipu Beach on Kauai is and has been one of America's top beaches for years and will continue to be.  It's one of the few beaches on Kauai where you can relax on a nice beach, swim in calm waves, snorkel, surf, boogey board, and you can take you kids there to swim in the ocean without a single worry (at the end of Poipu Beach closest to Brennecke's beach).  There is a park with a playground and places to grab a sandwhich or some food and then rent a surf board or snorkel gear.  When you think of Poipu Beach, we are the best source for one of the few new, air-conditioned condos located closest to Poipu Beach.  We specialize in these few units but we offer many many units to fit any need.

Take a look at this article and add these to your "bucket list".  --->Click Here

We can't help you too much with the others but we know some of the best places to stay on Kauai when you decide to visit this amazing waterfall - and psst... Kauai has several pretty amazing waterfalls to see as well.

Does Kauai have some great beaches or what?  The answer is - of course.  Being one of the oldest of the Hawaiian islands, Kauai has some of the most beach area of any island.  With so many beaches that are simply amazing, its no wonder there have been many listed on all sorts of top beach lists.  Here is one list of beaches that most everyone will recognize since it is from the movies - and of course one of Kauai's beaches is on this list.  Enjoy the photos/article:  http://bit.ly/enLjvf

Following a nine-month greens refurbishment project, the Poipu Bay golf course adjacent to the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa reopened Dec. 16.

"We're excited for our guests to play the course and experience the new greens," said Craig Sasada, Poipu Bay's director of golf. "The greens look absolutely pristine. Not only are they ecofriendly, but they will provide a faster and more consistent roll for our players."

Former home of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf event, Poipu Bay was closed last April to install a "warm-season turf" requiring fewer chemicals and less water. Improvements were also made to many of the course's bunkers, tee boxes and the 21,000-square-foot clubhouse.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., Poipu Bay ranked No. 5 out of 90 Hawaii courses listed in Golf Magazine's September issue "Best Courses You Can Play" classification.

Play golf, will travel. Many golfers are known to spend their vacations heading to different courses around the globe for their fairway fix.

To help golfers plan their next trip, travel website Cheapflights.com has come up with a list of top 10 golf destinations.

1. Portugal

European golfers flock to Algarve, Portugal, and it is slowly becoming popular among Americans as well. Portugal has a lot to offer by way of golf - visit San Lorenzo, Vale de Lobo, Vilamoura, and Quinta do Lago for the ultimate resorts known for not only luxurious courses, but also their food and wine.

2. Spain

Known by some as Europe's version of Myrtle Beach, Costa del Sol is full of A-list visitors who come for the sunny courses and beautiful coastline. The 1997 Ryder Cup was held at nearby Sotogrande, which adds to the reputation of the area. Also be sure to check out Aloha, Las Brisas, and Torrequebrada.

3. Florida

Orlando boasts the most tour pros per square mile than any other city and has a huge variety of public-access golf, with Bay Hill, Grand Cypress, Orange County National and Disney, just to name a few. Ponte Vedra Beach is home of the PGA Tour, and is known for Players Championship Venue TPC at Sawgrass. Other greats include Amelia Island and the World Golf Village.

4. Scotland

Golf's homeland, the sport has been played here since about the 15th century, and havens like St. Andrews, Carnoustie, and Gleneagles are ideal spots for anyone truly invested in golf. Some pros even joke that Carnoustie should be called "Car-nasty" because of its level in difficulty.

5. Arizona

In Arizona, locations like Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tucson crank up the heat and offer premier golf courses in the desert, and with ultra-deluxe accommodations to boot. Take full advantage of the 30+ public access courses in each city.

6. South Carolina

Golf meccas like Hilton Head and Charleston beckon athletes to enjoy its resort layouts, Ryder Cup venues and PGA Tour stops. Check out Harbour Town or Palmetto Hall in Hilton Head, and Kiwah Island Resort in Charleston.

7. Ireland

Rolling green hills extend far beyond golf courses here. Two of the best courses in Ireland are Royal Portrush and Royal County Down in Northern Ireland. In County Kerry, Dooks, Killarney, Tralee and Waterville are the VIPs, and in Dublin, Portamrnock, Druids Glen, and the European Club are prime go-tos.

8. California

California doesn't fall short when it comes to landscape and courses. For the serenity of nature, take a swing near Lake Tahoe, and for more luxurious amenities, head to Monterey-area locations like Pebble Beach and Spanish Bay. In Palm Springs, plenty of resorts do the trick for desert climate, and San Diego delivers for SoCal chill.

9. Canada

An ideal mountain location, Whistler is just 90 minutes north of Vancouver, and resorts like Big Sky and Chateau Whistler. In Prince Edward Islands, try the Brudnell River Resort, and (arguably) Canada's best, Links at Crowbush Cove.

10. Hawaii

Golfers flock to Hawaii's 54-hole complexes like Kapalua and Wailea. Other courses in Lanai and Kauai are renowned as well, and the Garden Isle boasts Pacific gems like the Princeville Resort, Kauai Lagoons, and Poipu Bay.

So it has been a while since our last post and we thought we would continue on with our things to do list.  We decided to break this up by what part of the island you may be heading to.  This post will outline some of our picks for things to do if you are heading to the west side of the island.

Heading West for the day.

  • These first two apply if you are staying or coming from the Poipu area on the south shore.
  • If you go out to the highway through the Tunnel of Trees, and turn left onto the State Highway (this is a little longer way to go) you will come to Menehune Market on the right side of the road.  Stop and ask for malasada which are custard filled donut-like creations
  • You will then come to a stop light at the intersection of Koloa Rd and State Highway.  There is a great souvenirs shop with places in the back to take pictures on a fake surf board and wave.  Kinda fun

  • Kalaheo is the next town, and if you turn left at the light and follow the road, you can get a breathtaking view of the coast all the way down to Poipu.  This is also were the public nine hole golf course is located, with greens fees about $10
  • Past Kalaheo is Port Allen, which is where you would leave for a boat tour up the Napaali Coast.
  • Glass Beach- as directions at Port Allen. It is the old dump, which over decades the ocean has pounded all the glass into small pieces.  When the sun hits the beach right, it is alive with color.  However, everyone takes the glass as souvenirs, so the look is not as dramatic as in the past.
  • Look for the Hanapepe Lookout.
  • In the town of Hanapepe, which is about a block long, you will find the home of Lilo and Stich, from the cartoon show. There are numerous art galleries with local art.  The town looks abandoned, but it isn’t and is fun to walk around
  • The town of Waimea is where we always stop at JoJo’s for shaved ice.  It is a rundown place on the ocean side of the street, past the fire station.  We always get ice cream in the bottom and cream on top.  It isn’t your ordinary snow cone
  • Waimea Canyon is one of the must do and must see on your trip.  This takes a better part of the day, so think about combining with all the other things on the west side.  The canyon takes about an hour to drive up, but there are several lookouts that are breathtaking.  When you get to the very top of the road, where it ends, there is a look out that lets you see down to the Napaali coast.  It actually can be chilly up there so if you think to, bring a sweater.
  • Beyond the town of Waimea, there are just cane fields and coffee fields. The final stopping place is Polihale State Park
  • Polihale State Park.  This is about an hour from the condos.  It is a wonderful wonderful beach.  It is also very hard to get to, and the locals go out of their way to help you not find it.  Its their beach.  However, it is where you will see the sunsets of a life time.  Use the directions from the Guide Book or a rental car map.  The road is very very rough and you will think your car is going to fall apart from the bumps in the road.  When you get to the beach, you’ll know because there are signs and parking as well as restrooms.  Bring chairs, and walk to the beach.  You may find yourself all alone on a seven mile beach, but regardless, you will feel like you are on a deserted island. After the sunset, on the drive back, it will be dark.  Be prepared for the most Steven King experience ever as you drive on the cane field roads which are covered with large Kane Spiders.  You can’t help but run over them, so if this worries you, maybe this isn’t the best beach to go to.
