The documentary called “The 808″ tells the story of how the Wolfpak began in a seven part series. It also tells and how they have made their mark on the surfing world. It chronicles the life of this tight-knit group that has become the most powerful surf crew on Oahu’s North Shore.

Kauai’s Dylan Goodale Wins King of the Groms!

Huntington Beach was the home of the QUIKSILVER King of the Groms California qualifier today and Kauai’s own Dylan Goodale came away “The King”, in a KOG that was rockin’ from the very first heat.

The surf was serving up 2-3 ft waves on Huntington beach and Dylan Goodale made the most of them dropping consistent high scores and scoring a KIG record of 7 “skins”!

Kicking off the opening round was Jon Jon Florence’s who set the bar high with a 7.67 ride. Beyrick De Vries also made his mark in the opening round with a front side air 360 that was unrivaled during the whole event and earned him the Future Fins most “futuristic” maneuver.

The Iron Brother’s Support Virginia Tech

The best surfers are endorsed by companies worldwide who wish to promote their products. Ussually the surfers sport these endorsements on their boards with everything from CPA’s to hair care products to clothes and sunglasses.

However, this week we are seeing a different trend – a trend of purely altruistic regards as this week in the Billabong Pro Teahupoo, kicking off in Tahiti, instead of the brightly colored many logos surfboards, Andy and Bruce Irons from Kauai, will be paddling out with surfboards showing just the dark purple and burned orange logo of Virginia Tech University.

Three Kauai Surfers Compete In Jr. Championship

The surfing on Kauai is spectacular and therefore it has molded some of the best surfers in the world, so it is no wonder that three up and coming Kauai surfers are competing at the World Junior Surfing Championships.

Leila Hurst and Alana Blanchard are competing in the girls competition and Dylan Goodale is surfing in the boys division. Kauai and Hawaiin are hoping that the Hawaii team will take back the first place trophy they won in 2005. Last year they came in third in the competition. In total Hawaii has 12 of their best junior championship surfers competing.

Kauai Surfing Legend Bruce Irons In Hall Of Fame!

You say the name Bruce Irons anywhere on the beautiful island of Kauai and everyone will know just who you are talking about. Born in 1979 weighing only three and a half pounds Bruce has grown into one of the best surfers in the world and is now being honored by being inducted into the Surfers’ Hall of Fame, the world’s first imprint collection of legendary surfers.

A Kauai Surfing Phenomenon

This weekend was the beginning of the NSSA RVCA Regional Championship in Honolulu, Hawaii and Nathan Rex from Kauai hit 9 out of 10 points in rides to open up the first day of competition.

Rex’s moves were compared to former NSSA standout Andy Irons they were so smooth and put together. He dominated in both the Explorer Mens and Open Juniors divisions.

Carissa Moore was also fabulous in the Explorer Women. Moore recently competed in Austrilia where she was runner-up in the VCT Roxy Pro.

A Kauai Surfing Tradition

When you vacation on Kauai you get to experience a special place, a place haled by kings, a place with tradition, life and spirit. One of those traditions is in surfing, where there seems to be a unique and standard code, and that is to help one another.

It is made mandatory amongst the surfers for all the older and more accomplished surfers to help the younger generation. They do this by surfing with them, giving tips and pointers as they inspire and encourage a new group of surfers to rise up and be the best.

Heart of A Soul Surfer Released on DVD

Bethany Hamilton always loved surfing and entered her first competition at the tender age of 11. In two short years she was well respected in the surfing world and then on October 31, 2003 her dreams were almost destroyed by a shark attack on Kauai, in which the shark took her left arm.

The shark could take her arm, but it could not take her belief, her courage or her relationship with Jesus Christ. Instead of being afraid of the ocean her dream grew stronger and she became an inspiration for the world.
