Kiteboarding/kitesurfing either way you say it, it involves the same thing - soaring through the air, sometimes as high as 40 feet! (you don’t get closer to flying that that!) Over water of course, so you have a safety net so to speak, and there is no place better than to try the sport for your first time than while on a Kauai vacation.
Now, don’t worry, since the sport first began in 2001 they have put in a ton of safety features and different styles have evolved such as wake style, wave riding, freestyle, jumping and cruising some of which are more conducive for beginners than others.

Fast and exciting a regatta is always a blast, thus if you are vacationing on Kauai you may wish to go see the State Regatta competition hosted in Kauai August 4th.
A regatta is a boat race or series of boat races involving rowing, sailing or yachting. In this case it is a rowing canoe boat race, that will be held in Hanalei, Kauai.
The regatta races begin in April and end with the state races held the first week in August. Paddlers who participate in the race train by jogging, weight lifting and through aerobic conditioning, all with the hope of making it to the state competition where only the best race.

Premiering tomorrow on FUEL TV, the 24/7 action sports lifestyle network, will be a new documentary series profiling members of Kauai’s famous surf posse - the Wolfpak.
The documentary called “The 808″ tells the story of how the Wolfpak began in a seven part series. It also tells and how they have made their mark on the surfing world. It chronicles the life of this tight-knit group that has become the most powerful surf crew on Oahu’s North Shore.
“There is a new water sport for one to enjoy on a Kauai vacation that combines the experience of scuba diving with the fun of snorkeling! It is called snuba and allows one to experience diving without the having to first master the fear of really deep water or take numerous lessons first. It is a way to try diving and if you love it you can go all out or perhaps snuba is all you will want to do as it is safe, fearless and easy enough for a 80-year old man or a small child to do.
